Jings Crivens, Help Ma Boab!

Scotland. Land of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Filled with mystique and enchantment. A beautiful land with beautiful people. Having lived here for almost 5 years, I have an additional perspective on this land.

I live and work in Edinburgh, the capital city. Coming from America, where the nation is only a few hundred years old, I am amazed to see signs for a church celebrating its 450th year anniversary. This speaks of the lengthy history here.

This is a land that has sent out missionaries like Dr. David Livingstone and has seen great revivals sweep through. Today, however, Scotland is statistically considered an unreached people group. This land, formerly known as “the land of the BOOK”, now has only 3-5% of the population attending any type of religious service regularly. Most people that I meet have never been inside a church, except to attend a wedding or a funeral.

This is WHY we are here!

We have a dual assignment, to reach the lost through various means of evangelism, and to encourage and strengthen the believers here. The last great move of God was 50-60 years ago. There has been a spiritual drought since that time. Although it is a land of affluence, I have found that people are spiritually bankrupt.

Our desire is to see the Power and Presence of God affect every area of life here. We want to see families restored, lost souls coming to faith, and the Wind of God blowing across Scotland again. Our task is huge, but will you stand with us in prayer and partnership to make a lasting impact in this nation?

‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
